Doctors Without Borders warns of undermining humanitarian work

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has denied accusations by Israeli authorities alleging links between its staff and Palestinian resistance groups, asserting that these are baseless public claims aimed at renewing the organization’s registration under new and unclear requirements.
In a statement released Thursday, the organization warned that this behavior endangers medical personnel and threatens to deprive hundreds of thousands of Palestinians of life-saving healthcare amidst the widespread collapse of the health system.
MSF stated that it is still awaiting the renewal of its registration to operate in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank until December 31, 2025, in accordance with new Israeli requirements that include submitting lists of staff names.
The organization reported that it has received no clear criteria or guarantees despite months of communication. MSF added that on December 30, Israeli authorities publicly accused its staff of having ties to armed groups. The organization stressed that it takes such allegations “very seriously,” asserting that it “will never knowingly employ anyone involved in military activities,” and that “making public allegations without substantiated evidence endangers humanitarian workers and undermines life-saving medical work.”
