The website “House of Saud,” a news platform covering the affairs of the Saudi royal family, political developments, and defense and security news related to the Kingdom, published a report titled “The Houthis Identify What Saudi Arabia Cannot Defend.”
The site indicated that the Ansar Allah Political Bureau announced a target list including the oil infrastructure of Saudi Aramco, including oil wells, transmission lines, oil tankers, refineries, export ports, and petrochemical plants, in a statement timed to coincide with the Saudi air defenses’ inability to counter the threat.
The site added in its explanation of what Ansar Allah threatened on July 18, that a member of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau, Hazam Al-Asad, announced in a statement carried by Press TV and Mehr News Agency, that “oil wells, transmission lines, oil tankers, refineries, oil export ports, stations, and petrochemical plants” are potential targets. This threat came following Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi’s televised statement on July 17, in which he affirmed that “all Saudi oil facilities and vital installations” fall within the range of Houthi missiles and drones if “Riyadh moves towards escalation.”
He explained that this language represents a deliberate shift in targeting logic, as Al-Asad’s specific reference to “massive fire and thick columns of black smoke” is read as a preemptive assignment of responsibility, directed at Aramco shareholders and the global energy market, in addition to the Saudi government.
The site revealed that this statement is not merely a show; Saudi Arabia’s PAC-3 interceptor missile inventory is only 400 rounds out of 2,800 – i.e., 14% – and no new supplies are expected from Lockheed Martin before 2028.
