Sana a Confirms Increase in the Number of Intercepted Saudi Ships at Bab Al Mandeb

Sana’a revealed on Tuesday that the tally of ships intercepted in the Red Sea has risen. This comes as the Saudi navigation ban enters its first day.

The Sana’a Ministry of Defense website quoted a source confirming the interception of 6 ships and their return, affirming that the Yemeni forces had issued warnings to them as the ban came into effect.
The source confirmed the ships’ compliance with the warnings.
Earlier today, Reuters had confirmed the return of two Saudi oil tankers after failing to cross Bab Al-Mandeb.
Although Sana’a did not identify the ships, media reports had spoken of Yemeni warnings to all ships heading to Saudi ports about the consequences of breaking the ban.
