Civil Defense recovers 50 bodies from a makeshift cemetery in Gaza

Civil defense teams recovered 50 bodies of martyrs from the courtyard of the Salah al-Din Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, on Sunday, in preparation for transferring them to official cemeteries.

Local sources reported that the civil defense teams retrieved the bodies of 50 martyrs who had been buried during the war on the Gaza Strip in the courtyard of the Salah al-Din Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Sources confirmed that Civil Defense teams transported the bodies to official cemeteries to complete burial procedures according to established protocols, emphasizing that search and inspection operations are ongoing in the vicinity of the mosque.

On December 7th, Civil Defense teams exhumed the remains of 48 Palestinians from makeshift graves at the Baptist Hospital, including 25 unidentified individuals, and transferred them to official cemeteries.

Civil Defense and Ministry of Health teams have begun the process of documenting the remains of the unidentified martyrs. Each body will be assigned a unique number, and a biological sample will be taken and stored at the Ministry of Health.
