Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
British economists have warned of a severe crisis that may hit the labor market in Britain in the coming months, amid the growing economic repercussions of the war on Iran and the global rise in energy prices.
The British Telegraph newspaper reported that more than 100,000 people may lose their jobs in the coming period as a result of the pressures facing British companies due to rising energy costs and slowing economic activity.
According to labor market data released for last February, the unemployment rate in Britain rose to 5.2%, the highest level recorded in five years.
The figures also showed that Britain is now recording a higher unemployment rate than Italy for the first time since the global financial crisis in 2008.
Economic experts believe that the continuation of international tensions and high energy prices could increase pressures on the British economy, threatening a new wave of layoffs and a slowdown in economic growth during the coming period.
