Bloomberg agency reported on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia is seeking to contain the renewed confrontation with the Sana’a authority “Ansar Allah” in Yemen through the diplomatic path, driven by American pressure for fear of the impact of the naval blockade imposed by Sana’a on global oil markets.

The agency quoted informed sources as saying that Riyadh has held talks with the Ansar Allah movement, mediated by Oman, with the aim of returning to the negotiation path to resolve the crisis.
According to the agency, American officials recommended that Riyadh not expand the scope of military operations, for fear that escalation would lead to further disruptions in global energy markets.
Bloomberg did not clarify the details of the communication between the two sides, and whether Riyadh is ready to respond to Sana’a’s demands to end the aggression and the comprehensive siege on Yemen, proceed with the roadmap, and pay compensation. No comment was issued by Sana’a at the time of writing.
The escalation between the two sides had returned to the forefront after Riyadh bombed Sana’a Airport in mid-July, and its refusal to meet Sana’a’s demands to lift the siege on Yemeni airports and ports. Sana’a responded by bombing Saudi airports and imposing a naval blockade on the Kingdom’s navigation, within the framework of the “siege-for-siege” and “escalation-for-escalation” equations.
