The “New York Times” newspaper revealed on Monday that Saudi Arabia postponed its main investment event, represented by the “Investment Initiative” conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to the year 2027, after it had been scheduled to launch on the 26th of this current October, against the backdrop of the continuation of the missile and drone attacks that target the Kingdom.
Exclusive Follow-ups — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
According to the newspaper, the organizers at the “Future Investment Initiative” institute informed the participants of the postponement decision, after discussing the options of holding the conference remotely, while a number of the invitees had canceled their attendance plans or changed their travel routes due to the security fears and the flight disruptions.
The conference, known as the “Davos of the Desert,” is considered the most prominent Saudi platform for presenting the economic diversification plans and attracting global investments.
Its postponement comes amid the repercussions of the attacks on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, and the restrictions imposed on flight movement, along with the postponement or cancellation of other international events in the Kingdom due to the attacks of the Sana’a forces, according to the newspaper.
