Iran Announces Downing of American Drone in the South of the Country

Iranian television announced yesterday the downing of an American “Lucas” drone in the skies of Bandar Abbas, near the city of Hajiabad in the south of the country.

It explained that air defense units detected and intercepted the drone before destroying it, affirming that the operation comes within the framework of protecting Iranian airspace and confronting any hostile threats.
It indicated the continued raising of the readiness of air defense forces and the armed forces to monitor the airspace, following the Iranian army’s announcement earlier today of carrying out drone attacks targeting American bases and targets in the region, in response to the American raids that hit Iran on Sunday evening.
