American Saudi military moves to finalize a new war on Yemen

In an indicator of the start of a new war on Yemen, Riyadh and Washington intensified their military and diplomatic coordination, as the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced today a meeting between the Chief of the General Staff, First Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, and the Deputy Commander of US Central Command, Lieutenant General Patrick Frank, to discuss “developing military cooperation and achieving common interests,” following a series of moves over the past two days.
These meetings come after the American website “Axios” revealed that the bombing of Sana’a Airport two days ago was only the product of “high-level coordination”; where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman obtained direct support from US President Donald Trump to execute an “unusual military operation.”
The report indicated that diplomacy was strongly present, through intensive meetings between the Saudi Ambassador in Washington and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, followed by a direct call between Trump and bin Salman, in which the latter placed his request for support for the military operation, which the US administration immediately approved.
Political observers believe that this Saudi-American harmony represents “conclusive evidence” of the continued link between Saudi military decision-making and American decision-making, just as was the case in the declaration of “Operation Decisive Storm” in 2015.
Analysts believe that this escalation is inseparable from a broader context, as the recent operations against Sana’a Airport are part of a series of American-Israeli-Saudi wars on Yemen over several years.
Observers affirm that the recent military meetings, in addition to what Axios revealed, indicate that the region may be on the brink of an all-out war, driven by a full American green light to support Riyadh in a new war against Sana’a.
