Sana a Addresses the International Community Regarding the Victims of Saudi Aviation s Targeting of a Market in Taiz

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Sana’a government on Monday addressed the UN, the Security Council, and the European and African Unions, against the backdrop of the Saudi forces’ targeting of Taiz’s central market at Mafraq Mawiyah, which resulted in the killing and wounding of 47 civilians, as an initial toll.
Sana’a — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
This came in memoranda sent by Sana’a’s Foreign Ministry to those international parties, in which it affirmed that “targeting markets and civilian objects represents a violation of international humanitarian law, and considered the incident an extension of what it described as crimes committed by Saudi Arabia in Yemen over 12 years.”
Sana’a’s Foreign Ministry demanded that the international community pressure Saudi Arabia to stop targeting civilians, end what it described as the aggression, and lift the siege on Yemen.
It held the international community legally and morally responsible for what it described as silence toward the war crimes in Yemen.
It stressed that Yemen possesses, in accordance with international laws and covenants, the legitimate right to self-defense and to confront hostile acts.
